Day 1
Kathmandu

Plans for the evening: a walk around Thamel touristic district and dinner at a Nepal cuisine restaurant. Night in the hotel.
Day 2
Ancient Kathmandu, «monkey temple», insane Thamel
In the morning, after breakfast we’ll head to the picturesque Lalitpur (Patan) city, visit its most important Durbar Square.

Ancient temples and palaces, olden streets of Lalitpur will touch your feelings. Nepal is a real wonder!

The biggest Hindu Pashupatinath Temple complex waits for us on the banks of Bagmati river. You will witness cremation ceremony, held on special platforms, from which the ash of dead bodies is washed into the river after the ritual.

After midday we’ll head to the Buddhist stupa Boudhanath, one of the most ancient in Asia. It is built in the form of mandala, in accordance with the “Golden Ratio” (“Divine Proportion”) rule. You will mix with the pilgrims’ flaw, walking around the stupa clockwise. It is believed that 108 circles around stupa clear one’s karma, all sins forgiven. In the evening we start for another important sight of Kathmandu, Buddhist temple Swayambhunath, towering over the city. The stone staircase leads to it, consisting of 365 steps – by the number of days in the year. This energetic place is full of positive vibe. One always finds it difficult to leave.

There’s an unnoticeableSantipur shrine nearby. If we’re lucky enough to find it open you’ll be able to touch the ancient gates. According to a legend they lead to Samadhi caves, where ascetic yogis sit in deep meditation for millennia. There’s also a legend that from Santipur, using its tunnel system, one can get inside the sacred Mount Kailash in Tibet and into Shambhala – the mythical land of the wise…

Traditional masala-chai tea with a view over Kathmandu valley will invigorate after the long road to Nepal. Later we’ll have dinner in a national cuisine restaurant. Try mo-mo, dal bhat and other local dishes. Closing the day with the evening promenade along Thamel –the most touristic area of the city.

If you forgot to take worm clothes for trekking in Himalayas — not a problem, here you can buy anything at very low prices. Totally anything!
Staying at a hotel for the night.
Day 3
Kathmandu-Bimalnagar-Pokhara
Outskirts of Himalayas, Siddha sacred cave, tourist mecca of Nepal, Shanti-Stupa, Phewa mountain lake.
After having breakfast in hotel we set off in a comfortable car to Nepal’s tourist mecca, Pokhara. The ride to this city takes about 7 hours.

The road curves along Himalayas hillsides, giving us a lot of picturesque views some of which you might want to photograph. And you’ll have chances to do it. We will take stops at viewpoints to take all the photos you wish. A drive-by restaurant will offer us lunch with true Nepal charm. Our next stop is in Bimalnagar village. From there on foot we go up the mountain path to the second biggest cave in Asia.

Its name is Siddha. Locals consider it sacred and worship Shiva in it. They think meditation in this place opens human supernatural abilities.

Underground cavity is about 500 meters long. There are no pathways or lights in it. So we shall enter this maze accompanied by tour guide and armed with flashlights. But first let us take a puja (prayer) honoring Shiva, to not get lost in the maze of caves.

Upon arriving to Pokhara, on the shore of beautiful mountain lake Phewa, we will stay at a cozy family hotel. In the evening our company will start again to the top of the mountain rising over Pokhara. Here a Buddhist Shanti-stupa is built, from which the famous «postcard» view to the highest mountains of Earth opens.

If the weather is fine we’ll have clear view of the 7000-8000 meter high peaks: Annapurna Dakshin, Machapuchare – sacred unconquered mountain of Shiva and other peaks, covered with eternal snows.

If our strength doesn’t fail us, we will go down by a picturesque mountain path to the boat station. There we’ll rent a boat to take an evening tour around Phewa lake, admiring the sunset colors and majestic Himalayas peaks’ reflection.

Dinner in a coastal restaurant. Night in the hotel.
Day 4
Pokhara – Jomsom – Muktinath (3760 meters).
Flight over Himalayas, sacred Muktinath valley, ancient temples, swimming in 108 springs, Nepal village, Buddhist monastery.

Breakfast in the hotel. Then morning flight on a tiny plane to the capital of former Lower Mustang kingdom, surrounded by snowy peaks of Himalayas. Flight lasts only for 20 minutes, but such beauty as here, you’ll find nowhere else! We fly among snow covered peaks of the Great Himalayas, see Annapurna peaks, Machapuchare, Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri … Upon landing we’ll take a Jeep ride through curving mountain road from Jomsom to the sacred Muktinath valley, located at 3760 meters height.

Hindus call it the «Soul saving place», Buddhists worship the valley as well. Why? Learn about it from your tour guide. Settle at the hotel and have a littlerest. New foot walk then brings us to Vishnu temple with 108 springs flowing from the golden heads of sacred cows. It is especially revered by all world Hindus.

In front of the temple two pools — kundas – are equipped for swimming. Hindus believe ablution in this place cleans your body and soul, grants health and longevity. And, of course, it washes away all sins of this and previous lives. Are you ready to swim in ice cold water of 108 mountain springs simultaneously?

A lot of Buddhist monasteries can be found nearby. After looking around one of them we’ll pay respect to Siddhārtha Gautama — Buddha, the great Enlightened whose image made of black stone, is set not far from Vishnu and Shiva temples.

Walking by a rocky path, we will visit Chortens — little Buddhist stupas – and come near memorial monument in honor of the most well-known Tibetan Master of meditation, spiritual teacher Padmasambhava (also known as Guru Rinpoche).

His golden statue with eyes open wide is turned west to Muktinath valley. Going down the mountain path to the neighboring Jharkot village, walk across its quiet streets, where every turn hides wonders.

Buddhist monastery is located on the cliff. You’ll get acquainted and take a photo with its young acolytes. In the evening we come back to the hotel, overseeing colorful and always fantastically beautiful sunset on the way, while the slanting rays of the sun lighten peaks of Himalayas, the highest mountains on Earth. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.
Day 5
Muktinath.
Trekking Himalayas, Earth highest mountains.
Day of trekking to the best view points, with majestic views on Himalayas mountain ranges, Dhaulagiri peaks (5th tallest after Everest), Nilgiri, peaks of Tilicho Himal, Thorong, Khatung-Kang and others.

After breakfast we walk another mountain path, slowly moving upwards. At some point we’ll reach mountain pass saddle point. With fair weather from this point you can have clear view of the whole Muktinath valley and mountain peaks situated on it. 360 degrees around you the breathtaking panorama of Himalayas opens. You’d like to stay there as long as possible. But after a quick snack and a souvenir photo with wonderful mountains in the background we start our descend back to Muktinath.

Trekking will take about 4-5 hours. In the evening we have some free time to rest. Those who want may try horse-riding to the temple and take some beautiful sunset photos.
Dinner, night in the hotel.

Day 6
Muktinath – Jomsom – Pokhara.
Flight over Himalayas, Tibetan refugees camp, bats cave, International cave museum.
After breakfast we ride on a Jeep to Jomsom and take the morning trip to already slightly familiar Pokhara, Nepal’s coziest touristic city. Plane, as before, flies for only 20 minutes, subtly navigating between cliffs. Under the wings – Great Himalayas wilderness landscapes, snowy peaks rushing to the blue sky.

Returning to the same hotel, we dine in a restaurant on the lake shore and go on a little tour around Pokhara.

Here we can visit the International mountains museum, bats cave, Mahendra cave, Davis Falls, Tibetan refugees’ settlement. By the way, from Tibetans you can buy unique souvenirs and accessories as a memory of Nepal, for reasonable prices.

Fans of adventure may take a flight on a hangglider, trike or paraglider (For an additional fee of $50 to $200, cost depends on season). Dinner, night in the hotel.

Then we get entry permit to the National park territory and start a riveting 4-hour Jeep-safari. Plenty of opportunities to see wild animals in their natural habitat and take photos and videos of them.

We will definitely see the monkeys, peacocks, rhinoceros, crocodiles, monitor lizards, deer, roe deer and other dwellers of the park.

Day 8
Sauraha (Chitwan) — Kathmandu
Rafting the crocodile river, trekking in the wild nature.
